Police to Remain at Kyagulanyi’s Premises Until Occupants Return – Deputy IGP

The Deputy Inspector General of Police told Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee that officers deployed at Robert Kyagulanyi’s premises will remain there to guard the property until the occupants return.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police, James Ochaya, has informed the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament that security personnel will continue to guard the premises of National Unity Platform (NUP) President Robert Kyagulanyi until the occupants return.

Ochaya said the continued police presence is intended to prevent vandalism and protect the property, noting that the premises are currently unoccupied.

“We are still at the premises to provide security… Police will only leave the place when the occupants come back,” he said.

The remarks were made as officials from the Uganda Police Force appeared before the committee to respond to issues raised in the Auditor General’s report for the financial year 2024/2025.
